Steven Thorne Design is the only UK and Europe distributor of white décor Coral from Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.

For the first time this product has been approved for export by the Australian Government. Its import into the UK has been permitted under strict CITES legislation in both countries.
This unique natural coral has been sustainably harvested under precise, government approved, world class management arrangements, which are continuously and scientifically monitored.
As a healthy resilient ecosystem, the Great Barrier Reef accumulates an extra five million tonnes of new coral growth every year. Of this growth, a small quota of abundant fast growing corals of premium quality and limited size is hand harvested from specific reef zones. Just as reefs recover after natural events such as cyclones, they also quickly replenish after harvesting. Corals either regenerate from the base or larval settlement and growth of a new colony occurs. The coral harvesting management arrangements in Queensland are based on the highest scientific standards to ensure that harvesting remains responsive to climate change and causes no detriment to the Great Barrier Reef. A portion of sales is donated to independent scientific research.
